CZECH COLLEGIUM

The group Czech Collegium is largely made up of leading players from the Prague FOK Symphony Orchestra and Czech National Symphony Orchestra. Most of the part is arranged by solo-trumpet player Vladislav Kozderka (winner of 1st prize and title of laureate in international competition Prague Spring in 1974, in international competition in Geneva has been awarded by bronze medals and the most valuable golden medal from international competition in Toulon in France in 1976). This is an ensemble which devotes itself mainly to chamber music it has been well received both in its home country and abroad.

The congress buffet diner will be held in Grand Monastery restaurant, at Strahov. Which is right next to the Grand Strahov Monastery and in the neigbourhood of Prague castle.
Bus transfer to the restaurant and back will be arranged from Prague Congress Centre and back.

Carl Djerassi – Insufficiency – Theatrical reading

Wednesday, August 29, 2012 – 19:30 – 21:00

(Included in Registration fee – free entrance) - Congress hall – Prague Congress Centre

Staged dramatic reading directed by Zdenek Havlas Jr. of Djerassi's  newest "science-in-theatre" play dealing with the science of "bubbleology" as applied to champagne and beer with a few digs along the way at the foibles of academic publishing, academic snobbery, and academic tenure. An apt illustration of  themes pertaining to the “Ethics in Science - Chemistry and Ethics” Congress special topic, but actually of relevance to the entire chemical community.
